Doja Cat isn’t shying away from criticism after her performance at the 2025 Oscars. The ceremony featured a 6.5-minute tribute to James Bond films, with Doja taking on the classic Diamonds Are Forever. She performed alongside RAYE, who sang Skyfall, and LISE, who covered Live and Let Die. While some fans praised Doja’s bold take on the song, others weren’t as impressed.

After the show, she shared photos from the night on Instagram, captioning them, “danced with sarah paulson last night also Flow is my favorite movie of all time cuz it’s a story about friendship. Thanks to the Academy Awards and Vanity Fair for having me.”

Addressing the backlash, Doja acknowledged the challenge of performing live in this style. “I never get to sing like that and what I did was brave and scary as fuck for me,” she wrote. “I know a lot of people didn’t like it but a lot of people did and I feel good that I pushed myself.”

She admitted nerves got to her but remained proud of the effort. “The song is a classic and I put a lot of work into it but the nerves got to me and a bitch hit some flats. I can’t wait to do something like that again. What a blessing that was. I feel amazing about the whole thing.”

In the comments, she showed love to her fellow performers, writing, “Also ALL the girls chewed down last night God BLESS them all. Absolutely gorgeous performances from everyone.”

While reactions to her Oscar’s performance were mixed, fans are now hoping she’ll shift the conversation by releasing the new music she’s been teasing.
