It looks like they are trying to make this fight more competitive by the minute.

For the last week, Floyd Mayweather has been promising an all out fight, something that has not been part of his signature style in years.

For the first time ever, the Nevada State Athletic Commission voted unanimously for both Mayweather and Conor McGregor in his first boxing fight to use 8-ounce gloves. This is a one-time exception to their own rule which states that any boxing match above 147 pounds are to be fought with 10-ounce gloves.

For what it’s worth, Mayweather has fought in 8-ounce gloves most of his career. McGregor, who is currently UFC’s lightweight champion, has fought using 4-ounce gloves throughout his career.

Both fighters are gearing up for the dream matchup with video leaking of McGregor’s sparring matchup between himself and retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi drawing some excitement vs Mayweather saying he’s going to go after a knockout in this fight which could take him to 50-0.

This conversation began when Mayweather issued the question on Instagram a few weeks ago.
