Concertgoers at PinkPantheress’ Brooklyn show got more than they expected when NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani made an unplanned appearance on Friday, October 24. During her performance of “True Romance” at the Kings Theater, Mamdani suddenly appeared on the venue’s big screen, holding up his hands with a handwritten message that read, “Our Time Has Come Vote Nov 4.” The crowd broke into cheers as he smiled and waved, using the moment to encourage New Yorkers to hit the polls ahead of Election Day.
PinkPantheress didn’t hesitate to join in the fun. While still performing, she managed to grab a marker and write her own message to the audience, holding up her hands to reveal “We ♡ U.” The quick interaction brought laughter and applause from fans, who loved the unexpected collaboration between music and politics.
The British singer’s An Evening With PinkPantheress tour has been drawing huge crowds, and her Brooklyn stop was no exception. She’s set to continue performing across North America, with upcoming dates in Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Oakland. Each show has highlighted her creative energy and connection with fans, making this tour one of her most memorable yet.
For Mamdani, the surprise cameo added excitement to his campaign trail. The Democratic candidate will appear on the ballot next week alongside Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent, and Republican contender Curtis Sliwa. The race will determine who steps in to replace Mayor Eric Adams, who dropped out in late September.
This isn’t the first time Mamdani has crossed paths with the music scene. In September, he appeared on stage with Lucy Dacus during the All Things Go 2025 festival. His Brooklyn moment with PinkPantheress, though, may have been his most talked-about appearance so far.
