New Jersey is taking the necessary steps to keep the spread of the Coronavirus down.
New changes have been made to their travel guide. Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, and Wisconsin have been added to their quarantine travel advisory and Delaware has been removed. Now a total of 22 states are considered COVID-19 hot spots and travelers, including NJ residents, must take a Coronavirus test and self-quarantine for two weeks if they traveled to any of these places.
All of the states include:
- Alabama (added 6/24/20)
- Arkansas (added 6/24/20)
- Arizona (added 6/24/20)
- California (added 6/30/20)
- Florida (added 6/24/20)
- Georgia (added 6/30/20)
- Iowa (added 6/30/20)
- Idaho (added 6/30/20)
- Kansas (added 7/7/20)
- Louisiana (added 6/30/20)
- Minnesota (added 7/14/20)
- Mississippi (added 6/30/20)
- North Carolina (added 6/24/20)
- Nevada (added 6/30/20)
- New Mexico (added 7/14/20)
- Ohio (added 7/14/20)
- Oklahoma (added 7/7/20)
- South Carolina (added 6/24/20)
- Tennessee (added 6/30/20)
- Texas (added 6/24/20)
- Utah (added 6/24/20)
- Wisconsin (added 7/14/20)
Enforcing these new rules is still up in the air. The neighboring state, New York, announced a $2,000 fine for anyone who violates the travel guide. NJ officials say, “compliance is expected, though the self-quarantine is voluntary.”
UPDATE: If you're traveling to New Jersey from the following states, you should self-quarantine for 14 days: AL, AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, IA, ID, KS, LA, MN, MS, NC, NM, NV, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, WI
