Tyrese Gibson is again at the center of a legal storm.

The “Fast & Furious” actor faces potential jail time over unpaid divorce-related attorney fees. A new motion filed by his ex-wife’s lawyers accuses him of ignoring a court-ordered payment. Gibson allegedly owes $492,651.99 in legal costs to Samantha Lee, his former spouse.

Attorneys claim he has deliberately refused to pay despite having the means to do so. The legal team is now asking a judge to hold the actor in criminal contempt. If granted, Gibson could face up to 20 days in jail.

This is the fourth enforcement motion filed by Lee’s lawyers since their 2020 split. In April 2023, Gibson was ordered to pay $10,690 monthly in child support. That ruling also included a $7,500 payment toward Lee’s legal expenses.

He failed to meet the terms and was briefly detained after paying $73,000. That amount still fell short of what the court originally ordered. With interest, the balance has climbed close to half a million dollars.

Attorneys from The Gleklen Law Firm and Bloom Lines Alexander filed the latest motion. They say Gibson’s refusal to pay reflects “blatant disregard” for the court’s authority.

They insist the request for jail time is a last resort to compel compliance. Lee’s legal team says multiple attempts to collect have been ignored.

They argue enforcement is necessary to uphold the prior ruling. Gibson has yet to issue a public response to the new filing.

The case highlights the tension between fame, family obligations, and legal accountability. Gibson has maintained he supports his daughter and rejects the contempt allegations. Still, the ongoing dispute continues to generate public interest and legal scrutiny.

Whether he appeals or settles, the court’s decision could reshape his public image.
