Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube are being drawn deeper into a million-dollar legal battle involving their hip-hop collective Mount Westmore. Alongside fellow group members E-40 and Too Short, the rap icons are being sued by Westside Merchandising, which accuses them of breaching a 2022 agreement. The company claims it was promised exclusive rights to handle Mount Westmore’s tour merchandise but was later cut out of the deal entirely.

Court documents allege that the contract required Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube to actively promote the arrangement. “[Westside Merchandising] was also assured that Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube, both of whom were defined as key men under the [agreement], would publicize and promote the agreement by producing a promotional video to be posted on [Mount Westmore’s] social media accounts and by appearing at a retail location of Westside’s choice,” the company’s lawyers stated. “None of this happened.”

The legal battle escalated after both Snoop and Ice Cube requested a protective order, hoping to either skip their depositions or appear remotely. However, a judge ruled that the two must sit for questioning, rejecting claims that they had no relevant information to offer. Westside’s attorney, John Fowler, accused the rappers of dodging accountability, saying, “Defendants in this case are trying to hide from having their depositions taken because they are scared of answering difficult questions relating to their swindle.”

Mount Westmore’s legal team, led by attorney Frank Seddigh, has strongly denied any wrongdoing. “Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, and Too Short, collectively known as Mount Westmore, have always conducted their business in good faith and with integrity,” Seddigh said. “The facts and the law will ultimately show that Westside Merchandising’s claims against our clients are entirely baseless and without merit.”

The case remains active as both sides prepare for the next stage of discovery.
