In a recent appearance on the Julian Dorey Podcast, Redman opened up about his evolving relationship with longtime collaborator Method Man, emphasizing that while their professional bond remains strong, their personal interactions have diminished significantly.

When asked if he still spends time with Method Man outside of their professional commitments, Redman was forthright, responding with a definitive, “Hell no!” He elaborated, stating, “We do shows and we come back home. I don’t hang out with a lot of rappers at all. This is work, this is home.” Redman highlighted the importance of maintaining boundaries between his career and personal life, noting that their friendship operates within a framework of mutual respect for each other’s responsibilities. “My circle is very small,” he remarked, indicating that both he and Method Man have separate lives outside of their musical endeavors. “Once we’re off the road, we’re like, ‘Alright. You got family to deal with, I got stuff I gotta do.’”

Though he maintains connections with several artists, Redman emphasized that his social interactions are limited. He mentioned, “There’s a lot of MCs who I’m connected with. Of course, Wu-Tang Clan is my crew, but I don’t generally hang out with rappers. The only artists I spend time with are my boy DoItAll from Lords of The Underground and Treach if I see him around, and Kid Capri, who is like a big brother to me.”

Redman Eyes ‘Blackout! 3,’ but Method Man Stays Focused on Film and TV

On the subject of their collaborative work, Redman expressed a desire to reunite with Method Man for a third installment of their acclaimed album series, Blackout! 3. However, Method Man has indicated that his focus has shifted toward acting and production. In a previous conversation with Red Bull, he stated, “We are not even focused on no Blackouts! or any of that right now. Brother, we are focused on this TV and movie stuff and producing as well.”

The duo first captivated audiences with their platinum-selling debut album Blackout! in 1999, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling 254,000 copies. A decade later, they followed up with Blackout! 2, which also achieved a top 10 debut. Since then, fans have eagerly anticipated a third chapter, but as both artists explore different avenues in their careers, the release timeline remains uncertain.

Despite their busy schedules, Redman continues to embrace the legacy they’ve built together. He eagerly awaits the possibility of a future collaboration, while acknowledging the necessity of their individual paths. As he noted, “We’ve got to get these stories out there,” reflecting the duo’s commitment to their craft, whether in music or beyond.

Fans remain hopeful that one day they will see the much-anticipated Blackout! 3 come to fruition, but for now, both artists are charting their unique courses in the entertainment industry.
