MGK turned this year’s MGK Day in Cleveland into a weekend of unforgettable moments for both his family and his fans. On Sunday, August 10, the artist, formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, pulled off a big surprise for his daughter, Casie Baker. Just a few weeks after she turned 16 in July, Casie was gifted her dream car, an Acura TLX.
In video clips that quickly spread across social media, Casie can be seen standing in shock as a shiny black Acura pulled up with a bright red bow on the hood. She rushed over to hug her dad before checking out the car up close. Before she could sit behind the wheel, MGK reminded her of an important guideline. “What’s the No. 1 rule?” he asked. Casie immediately responded, “Don’t drive like your dad.” He smiled and replied, “Exactly — don’t drive like me.” Now, Casie just needs to pass her driving test before she can officially take it on the road.
Earlier that day, MGK also had a surprise of his own. During the halftime break of the Celebrity Shootout basketball game, he was presented with a custom guitar featuring his portrait. The one-of-a-kind piece will be displayed permanently at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport as a tribute to the hometown star.
The celebration ended with a packed outdoor concert on the Mall C lawn. MGK debuted songs from his new album Lost Americana, released on August 8. Fans enjoyed live performances of fresh tracks. The musician aimed for his third consecutive album to reach the top of the Billboard 200.
MGK gave his daughter the keys to her first car. He also unveiled new music for thousands of supporters. This year’s MGK Day was a mix of personal milestones and career highlights.
