Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, recently had his photo taken for the sex offender registry. This happened because his time under house arrest just ended. You can see his new picture on the Megan’s Law website. In the photo, he’s wearing a denim shirt over a white t-shirt, and he looks quite serious.
This is because the crimes he’s accused of are very serious. Back in 1994, when he was 16, Petty was convicted of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl. He spent about four years in prison for this. Because of this conviction, he has to be on the sex offender registry.
In 2020, Petty got in trouble again for not registering as a sex offender after moving to California to be with Nicki. He was caught when he was pulled over in November. After being arrested, he was let go on $20,000 bail.
Despite all this, Nicki Minaj has stood by him. She’s even defended him, saying he’s innocent. She claimed that the girl who accused him of the crime wanted to take back her statement but was threatened with jail time.
But the legal troubles don’t end there for Nicki and Kenneth. Recently, a former security guard accused them of assaulting him backstage at a concert.
He won a default judgment in his case, which means Nicki and Kenneth might have to pay him around $500,000.
