Twenty-five years after its release, Juvenile has released the visual treatment for his classic track, “400 Degreez.”
The Diesel Filmz-directed music video, released on Juve’s 49th birthday (March 26), kicks off with a message reading: “On November 3, 1998 Juvenile released his 3rd album album 400 Degreez. The album went on to be certified 4x platinum having sold over 4 million copies.
“This ground breaking album remains Juvenile’s best-selling project of his solo career. This visual is a celebration of the 25th anniversary of this monumental achievement.”
In a nostalgic reunion, Juvenile reconnects with former Cash Money collaborator Mannie Fresh, the mastermind behind the 400 Degreez album, as two video vixens flex their skills in the kitchen, crafting a birthday cake for the iconic record. The video intertwines throwback footage from the 90s era with recent scenes of Juvenile and Mannie Fresh igniting the stage with their timeless energy.
The song, featured on the New Orleans rapper’s acclaimed third studio album of the same name, is widely considered his career best, achieving RIAA 4x certification.
According to HipHop-N-More, a digital deluxe edition is set to drop on Friday (March 29) with a few surprises, followed by a vibrant 2LP color vinyl release on April 26.
“Juvenile just dropped the official video for the title track “400 Degreez” even tho he released the album 25 years ago [fire, fleur-de-lis emoji],” a fan exclaimed on X/Twitter. “Better late than never !! Deluxe Digital out Friday w 2 new songs ,” Juvenile responded teasing two bonus tracks, “Party” and “We Be Blowing Money.” juvenileofficial.com
Saluting Juve’s brilliance, another fan commented: “This is so smart, I always say artist from other eras should redrop the music they once had prior, esp. if it sounds current! They are doing it for movies too, on their anniversaries, why not [blows smoke emoji].”
The excitement surrounding the release sparked speculation about future projects. “Now if we can get a video for Juvenile On Fire,” one comment suggested. Juvenile eagerly responded, “What other song that never got a video y’all want me to make?” stirring even more anticipation for upcoming releases.
In 2021, Juvenile revitalized his 1999 hit single “Back That Azz Up” with a remake, accompanied by a video titled “Vax That Thang Up.” Featuring Mannie Fresh and Mia X, the track aimed to boost vaccination rates during the global pandemic.
“I just wanted to do something positive for my people and to stand in front to show that I’m willing to sacrifice my life not just for me but also for my family,” he said in a press statement.
He continued, “We don’t know what we’re facing right now but we really do all need to be vaccinated so we can continue to do our thing and survive.
