Jake Paul didn’t hold back after his highly anticipated November 14 fight with Gervonta “Tank” Davis was officially canceled. Following the November 3 announcement and reports of a new lawsuit filed against Davis, Paul took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the boxer in one of his harshest public statements yet.

“Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage,” Paul wrote, accusing the star of being “an absolute nightmare” to work with.

He alleged repeated unprofessional behavior, claiming Davis showed up hours late to promotional shoots and made “bizarre requests.” Paul also cited the fighter’s history of legal troubles, including multiple arrests and assault allegations, saying that fans who continue to support Davis are backing “the most vile sin a man can commit.”

Paul’s post came just hours after reports surfaced that Davis was facing a new civil lawsuit tied to alleged domestic violence, reigniting scrutiny over his off-ring behavior. The social media outburst made clear that Paul’s decision to cancel the bout wasn’t based on business — it was personal and principled.

“I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account,” Paul continued. “My company champions women.”

He apologized to those affected by the cancellation, including fighters on the undercard and members of his Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) team. “I’m so sorry to everyone involved,” he wrote. “Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again.”

Paul went further, criticizing the broader culture that elevates controversial athletes despite their actions. “It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports, including in positions of power,” he said, urging fans to “look beyond his fake streetwear pieces ‘SWAG’ and search for something deeper to be a fan of.”

The statement concluded with Paul reaffirming his readiness to fight again: “As for me, it’s on to the next one as always. Anyone. Anytime. Any place.”

Davis has yet to respond publicly. The fallout highlights the growing tension between athletic stardom, public accountability, and the influence of social media in shaping boxing’s narrative beyond the ring.
