Kanye West recently shared that an updated version of the song “New Body,” originally featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj, was in the works with a verse from Ice Spice. However, there’s been a snag as Ice Spice’s team is not giving permission for the song’s release.
The news surfaced after YesJulz, who was recently dismissed by Yeezy, revealed more screenshots from her chats with Kanye West.
These screenshots uncovered that “New Body” was not only sent to Ice Spice but also to Doja Cat. The aim was to decide who delivered the best performance on the track.
Expressing his frustration, Kanye West took to Instagram Story on Tuesday (March 19th), stating, “ICE SPICE SENT A VERSE IN FOR NEW BODY NOW HER TEAM IS SAYING WE CAN’T USE IT.”
“New Body” was originally intended to be part of Kanye’s 2019 album Yandhi, which unfortunately never saw the light of day.
Despite leaks and unofficial versions circulating on the internet over the years, fans have continuously expressed their desire for an official, high-quality version of the song.
However, with the recent revelation that Ice Spice’s team is also hindering its release, it appears that fans will have to continue waiting.
