Fredro Starr confirms there was a bit of friction on the set of the hit sitcom “Moesha.”
During a recent interview, Starr, who played Q on the sitcom, explained, “there was definitely friction, definitely. There were times on the set where they had an argument once or twice. And they got over it. People argue.”
He continued, “But I’m gonna keep it real, Countess Vaughn was funny. She was hilarious, and they needed her on the show, so she had a right to beef. She had a right to speak her mind.” Starr added, “Whatever happened, I’m sure that Countess Vaughn was frustrated enough to where it exploded.”
The rapper/actor says Countess Vaugh, who played Kim Parker on “Moesha,” was later offered a spin-off show in which Star says, “Countess was so dope and so much of a great actress and so funny they gave her her own show. They said, ‘You know what, they not getting along, just give her her own show.”
“The Parkers” aired on UPN in 1999 and ran for five seasons.
