Blueface isn’t wasting time making headlines after his release from Lancaster Prison. Just days after regaining his freedom, the Los Angeles native has issued a bold challenge to YouTuber-turned-boxing phenom Jake Paul.
In his first interview since completing a 21-month sentence, Blueface joined fellow rapper DDG to talk about life behind bars, his physical transformation, and his next move. The “Thotiana” hitmaker addressed the viral prison photos that showed him noticeably bulkier. According to Blueface, the weight gain wasn’t accidental.
“I was eating mashed potatoes and oatmeal from commissary every day until I threw up,” he revealed with a laugh. “I had fades to give out, and the extra weight helped me land KOs.”
Blueface’s time inside didn’t dull his fighting spirit. When DDG asked if he’d step back into the ring, he didn’t hesitate. “Jake Paul,” he said, naming the YouTube star fresh off a canceled exhibition bout against Gervonta “Tank” Davis. The Netflix fight was scrapped earlier this month after Davis was sued for assault by an ex-girlfriend, leading Paul to call him “a piece of garbage” online.

Now sitting at 225 pounds, Blueface said he’s ready to slim down for the potential matchup. “I’ll meet him halfway,” he said, framing the callout as both a challenge and a statement of intent.
Blueface has dabbled in the boxing world since 2021, when he made his debut at the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s “BKFC 19” in Florida. He beat TikTok star Kane Trujillo by unanimous decision, displaying surprising reach and composure in the ring.
Since then, his boxing journey has been filled with both momentum and setbacks. Legal issues derailed several potential fights, including a hyped showdown with British influencer Ed Matthews. In 2023, a gym altercation left him stabbed and sidelined, but not defeated.
Now, free and focused, Blueface seems eager to channel his energy into combat sports again. Whether Jake Paul accepts the challenge or not, the rapper’s return marks another unpredictable chapter in the evolving intersection between hip-hop and boxing.
