It seems that Benzino and Eminem’s long-standing beef won’t go away. The former Source editor re-shared an old montage of the Detroit rapper using the n-word on old tracks and in live performances, and again, accused him of being racist in a recent Instagram post.
“Throughout history you always had some black people who will constantly make excuses for racist white people. There will always be someone of color who thinks this is ok and it’s sad,” he wrote in the post’s caption.
One snippet hears the rapper use the slur as such, “All the girls I like to bone have big butts/ No they don’t, ’cause I don’t like that n*gga shit/I’m just here to make a bigger hit.” Benzino shared the original clip in 2003, during his tenure at The Source. While The Slim Shady rapper later apologized, but the damage had already been done.
“Ray Benzino, Dave Mays, and The Source have had a vendetta against me, Shady Records, and our artists for a long time,” he said in a statement around the time. The rapper continued: “The tape they played today was something I made out of anger, stupidity, and frustration when I was a teenager.”
Their beef died down, but Em reignited it after he released “Doomsday Pt. 2,” which took several shots at the reality TV personality, including one about his daughter, Coi Leray. Benzino fired back with two diss tracks entitled “Vulturius” and “Rap Elvis.”
But not too long after that, the media entrepreneur gave Eminem a tearful apology on Drink Champs— however now, one could guess that this means he’s rescinded his apology.
