Amber Rose is publicly advocating for a pardon for rapper Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
During a recent interview on Chris Cuomo’s show on NewsNation, Rose explained her stance, stating that she believes Lanez is innocent based on evidence she has reviewed. “I’m advocating for Tory Lanez because the evidence shows that he’s innocent. He deserves to be pardoned by Governor Gavin Newsom. He’s 100 percent exonerated from the gun and for that alone, he should be home with his family.”
Rose also shared that Lanez personally called her from prison to explain his side of the story, asserting that his apology text, which was widely interpreted as an admission of guilt, was actually about personal matters unrelated to the shooting.
Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, has also spoke up on Tory Lanez’ behalf. Luna cited concerns about the evidence and the fairness of the trial.
“I am calling on Gov. Newsom @CAgovernor to review Tory Lanez’s case and issue a pardon,” Representative Luna wrote. “His 10-year sentence was based on flawed evidence, political pressure, and prosecutorial bias. Justice must be blind – not driven by headlines. Free Tory Lanez.”
