Rick Ross releases a video for his diss track towards Drake Champagne Moments.
The rap beef between Drake and Ross began after Ross unfollowed Drake because of French Montana. “I unfollowed you because you sent the cease and desist to French Montana, n***a,” said Ross. “You sent the police, n***a, hated on my dog’s project, n***a, that wasn’t the same white boy I seen, n***, when we was making them early records.”
Akademiks premiered the audio to the diss track on his Livestream on April 13th, after receiving the song from Ross’s DJ. Ross hyped the track up via Twitter writing, “It’s the 1st qtr. This is going to be a good game. Grab a seat” and “Perfect day to boss up.”
The track comes after Drake released a diss track of his own titled “Push Ups.” On the song Drake raps, “might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky / Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this n***a turnin’ fifty / Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy / Spend that lil’ check you got and stay up out my business” taking direct shots at Rozay.
Drake also took shots at Kendrick Lamar on the track. He raps, “your last one bricked, you really not on shit / They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit / Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split,” then, “Like your label, boy, you in the scope right now / And you gon’ feel the aftermath of what I write down / I’m at the top of the mountain, so you tight now.”
