Uber has been receiving tons of backlash recently after it was learned that he was on President Donald Trump’s economic advisory council.
With protests underway, and tons of pressure from customers it seems like he has decided to make a decision to move away from the table.
According to the New York Times, the chief executive of Uber Travis Kalanick decided to step down from the economic advisory council as he announced in an e-mail sent to employees.
“Earlier today I spoke briefly with the president about the immigration executive order and its issues for our community,” the statement read. “I also let him know that I would not be able to participate on his economic council. Joining the group was not meant to be an endorsement of the president or his agenda but unfortunately it has been misinterpreted to be exactly that.”
Employees have dared to stop working for the company while thousands of customers decided to delete the application following the news.
