Queens of neo soul, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, battled on Instagram Live, Saturday night and gave the world exactly what we needed.
Thanks to Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, the Verzuz battles have been hands down the most entertaining thing on social media amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Badu and Scott were the first women to battle it out, and social media absolutely loved it- as the two were trending on Twitter throughout the whole show.

It was truly legendary night for the culture, as over 700K people joined and watched the magic. What shocked many social media users is that the live went off with a hitch, no technical difficulties and Instagram didn’t cut their time short- as they jammed for close to four hours. “I don’t have no conception of time. I don’t know what that means,” Badu told Scott at one point.
The Queens ended the Live with a tribute to the late, Andre Harrell, who passed away today at the age of 59. They played Jill Scott’s ‘Cross My Mind’ which Siwzz Beatz mentioned that he and Harrell were just talking about last week.
