Nicki Minaj is stirring up conversation after showing public support for former President Donald Trump’s comments about the treatment of Christians in Nigeria. Trump recently claimed that “thousands of Christians are being killed” by “radical Islamists,” and Minaj reposted his statement on social media, thanking him for addressing the issue. “Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude,” she wrote. “We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

Her post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Many social media users accused the rapper of spreading misinformation and selectively expressing outrage. One person commented, “Suddenly there’s a campaign about something that happened in Nigeria, and they want to blame Muslims. The funny thing is, Nicki Minaj suddenly cares about Christianity but stays silent about what’s happening to Christians in Gaza.” Another user added, “There is no ethnic or religious group being persecuted in Nigeria. Boko Haram attacks both Muslims and Christians, often killing more Muslims during mosque prayers.”

According to reports from BBC and Reuters, Nigeria’s violence is not exclusively religious. Attacks are often linked to terrorism, poverty, and long-standing regional conflicts. Experts say that both Christians and Muslims have been victims of extremist groups like Boko Haram and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province.

This is not the first time Minaj has shown admiration for Trump. In recent weeks, she praised him in posts referencing the 2024 presidential election, writing, “Flattering photos are allowed to be posted of me again. Thanks, POTUS.” She also appeared to take a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris, questioning her campaign strength and funding.

Minaj has been open about her Christian faith and often expresses gratitude for religious freedom in the United States. Despite her intentions, her latest comments have reignited debate about misinformation and how celebrity influence can shape global conversations.
