R&B singer Mario is setting the record straight after recent speculation about his dating preferences sparked controversy online.

In a candid response, the “Let Me Love You” star addressed accusations that he doesn’t date or show appreciation for Black women, emphasizing that the claims are both false and misleading. “I’m so tired of the black women slander in the comments about how I don’t like black women and how black women aren’t loved!!” Mario wrote via his Instagram story.

“If you’re making these comments, I’m convinced YOU have a problem with black women. Black women are loved and needed.”

The conversation began after fans noticed his past relationships and made assumptions about his preferences, sparking debates across social media. This isn’t the first time Mario addressed this speculation.

As previously reported, Mario made it clear that he likes whoever loves him correctly. “I like good energy and who loves me the way that’s healthy. Could be black, white, Mexican, alien… I dated an alien before it was great..”

Mario also revealed he is expecting his first child.
