Angel Reese gave her mother the gift of a lifetime by paying off her mortgage.
On the latest episode of, Unapologetically Angel, Angel invited her mother, Angel Webb Reese affectionately known as “Mama Angel”, to the show.
While believing she was there for a usual conversation, Mama Angel was in for the shock of her life as her daughter had an amazing surprise for her.
The two discussed topics such as basketball, family, and everything else under the sun. Then Reese segued into her surprise gift.
“Well, it’s your birthday today,” Reese said and a cake was brought out to celebrate.
“Before we sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ you said that if your mortgage was paid off, you would retire or you wouldn’t work,” Rese said to her mother. “You can pick if you want to work still, but your mortgage today has been paid.”
Mama Angel was so stunned that she almost dropped the cake and required assistance.
Filled with emotion, she asked, “Are you serious?” Reese then gave a shout-out to her team for pulling it off.
“That was my biggest goal in life—to retire you and pay your mortgage,” Reese said. “You’re a hard-working woman, you don’t need me for no money.” She also informed her mother that she was purchasing a house in Chicago and she could stay with her whenever she wanted.
In addition to her salary in the WNBA, Reese has several lucrative endorsements with Reebok, PlayStation, Amazon, Raising Cane’s, and more.
Currently, Reese is playing for the Rose Basketball Club in the debut season of the Unrivaled Women’s Pro League.
